Declamation GIRL'S STATE Sandra Dalen Each year the American Legion Auxiliary selects one girl from the Junior Class to attend Girls ' State . The purpose of Girls ' State is to build Citizenship. Those attending are engaged in electing political leaders , running for office , and in learning parliamentary proced– ures , in which they will participate in adult life .
