Senior Class Council Experiences
A Full and Successful Year
The Senior Class Council began working
long before the school year started.
With money that was left over from last
year, they had a group from Spirit Square
paint the mural of the Sabre in the mall.
Secretary Joanna Woods contacted several
students to bring food for a teacher brunch
to welcome in the new year. September
brought about the first disco with Roy
Rosen. Homecoming week was full of
activities that were topped off with the
Seniors winning the building decoration
contest. General members Shari Garnett
and Donny Rabb, along with many other
workers, carried out the plans made by
President Judy Yates in giving the building
its winning appearance. The determination
of the council was also responsible for
presenting a successful Miss South Pageant.
Vice-President Alison Loftus not only spent
countless hours in preparation but also
participated as a contestant. The NCASC
convention soon followed with much
involvement from all students and Student
Council members.
It
was the Seniors,
however, who housed the most delegates.
As January drew near, so did the dread that
accompanies exams. The Exam Jam was a
welcome relief after a week of rough
studying and tests. The council's spring
activities included those which are unique
only to Seniors. The levity of Senior Follies
provided a comical escape of the pressures
of school life. Class night and Graduation
served as
cli~tic
endings to an eventful
and fun-filled year.
