Alive And Well While some say that Latin is a dead language, members of the Del Norte Latin Club will tell you differently. In addi– tion to daily Latin classes, the club meets at lunch during the week. Latin teacher, and club advisor, Mary Cae Spalding, encourages all students inter– ested in the classics to join the club. Latin Club officers include: President, Jean Yates, Vice President, Dana Quintana, Secretary, Stacy Pearl, Par– liamentarian, Jennifer Mc– Kee, Historian, Jennifer Crowe, Financial Chairper– son, Lindsay Moffatt, and Activities Chairperson, Dan– iel Boggess. In addition to be– ing a chapter officer, Boggess The sponsor of the Latin Club, Mary Cae Spalding. also serves as the Parliamen– tarian for the Southwestern Junior Classical League (SWJCL), a regional Latin organization for students. "We are looking forward to another exciting SWJCL Convention in Sacramento, N.M." said Spalding. The Del Norte Delegation returned from the convention as last year's Spirit Award winners and they hope to capture it for the third year out of four. Members of the group also won several individual first, second, and third place awards. Latin club meets to try and find new way of get– ting people involved in the Latin program.
