( Foreign Exchange Students Become American Knights A lot of foreign students from different parts of the world study at Del Norte High School. Their total number is near to 20. Four of them are foreign exchange students who par– ticipate in World Learning Program. This program gave them scholarships to study in American High Schools for one year. The other students just came to the U.S. with their families. All foreign students are juniors and seniors. Some of them are going to graduate from Del Norte. In spite of language difficultes, most of foreign students are doing well with their classes. They also have an English tutor who helps them with English problems. From interviews with for– eign students, we learned the following information. The tudents are from Brasil, Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Chara is teaching usan how to u e the computer. Gurgen in computer clas working on a program. Foreign Exchange Greece, France and Vietnam. All of them think that the U.S. is a nice country with re– ally nice people. They also like American High Schools, but almost all of them said that schools are boring every– where. On the third question about American teenagers and re– lations with them, they an– swered that teenagers are the same everywhere, and they understand each other much better than adults do. The fourth question was about their adjustment in the U.S. Most of them don't have problems with adjustment, but some students also no– ticed that sometimes they are homesick. All of students really like Del Norte, and the main thing they like in school are the teachers. Teachers are the only people who understand their problems and help them most.
