Since 1ts organization in 1944, under the supervision of Miss Dorothy Tobias, it has donated SIX books to North's library mcludmg this year's gifts, "From the Top of the Stairs" and "Miracle of the Bells." Besides joint Christmas porties w1th the G.A.A. and on annual picnic in June, rush porties ore given for prospective members One program featured as guest speaker, Mrs. Glono Nichols, who gave a detailed account of her native Philippines during the war. Noont1me mov1es, assembly and classroom programs needing projection equ1pment hove been run by the Projection Guild for two years, under the d~rection of Mr. George Tote and Mr. Donald Roehm . Members who have done outstanding work are awarded pins. Forensic Forum Under the direction of Mr. Daniel Dressier the Forensic Forum wos estab– lished in 1939 for the benefit of students interested in formal debate Each year the Forum has collaborated with Central in o debate or forum for the CiviC Club. These talented Troupers hove entertained at the Bunny hop, Noontime Swmg– time, award assemblies ond the first North-Central dance. Cooperating witn t '1e E Tmupe is the G~rls' Glee Club which has more than doubled its ronks since 1946 when it was organized and led by student conductor Virginia Stanton, succeeded by Alice Koys. ¥-Teens Calling all girls' G1rls who like o good time hove entertomed and given their services through the Y-Teens. With the help of Mrs. Helen Perkins the Teeners were orgomzed in 1938. Selling forget-me-nets, attending the Annual Girl Reserves convention, send1ng delegates to a f1ve-doy conference at a camp near Buffalo, and holding parties and donees hove afforded much pleasure to the girls. Hi-Y Their pledge "To create, mo1ntoin and extend throughout school and commumty the high standard of Christian character," expresses the pur– pose of the H1-Y, established m 1938 by Fronc1s Ryan and Bill Parsons w1th Mr Donald Roehm as first faculty odvrser, later succeeded by Mr. Christian Hoffman and Mr George Crone. By sending delegates to state and not1onol conferences and sponsormg parties, mov1es, lectures and donees the Hi-Y upholds its pledge. 55
