Roche, pitching superbly, allowed only two hits while striking out ten and walk– ing one. Buck also led the team at the plate with three hits in three times at bat. Vince Garbarino garnered two triples in four tries, and Red Ferrell had two hits in three official trips to bat to help bring up the score. Held scoreless for the first seven innings, the North Diamond Men bunched in seven during the lost two frames to defeat Elmira Free Academy 7-3. Jerry Durkot and Buck Roche pitched six-hit ball while John Donnelly and Joe Giannetto led the hitting with two singles apiece, Donnelly having a home run. Behind the two-hit pitching of Buck Roche, the Indians continued on their winning way by defeating Central 2-0.
