Softball The American sport of baseball is very popu– lar among the girls at North. One hundred and twenty girls signed up to play on either Mon– day and Thursday or Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. They divided into ten teams con– sisting of a captain and eleven other girls. Each team assumed the name of a state. Girls' Basketball Last fall, if you heard a bunch of business– like girls calling themselves "Giants" or "Dodgers," you knew that they were some of the seventy-five girls who played Intramural Basketball. Pat Krause's team captured first place in the series of games. Cheerleaders At basketball and football games, specta– tors are heartened by the appearance of spar– kling red and blue uniforms. These are North's peppy cheerleaders who, with their enthusiasm, add as much to a sport as the game itself. The group consists of Varsity and J.V. squads.
