BASEBALL Once again spring is here; and, as the grass begins to regain its natural green, we find Mr. Howland, our able and ambitious baseball coach, once again searching our portals for "stickers, chuckers, and catchers." We find him at the time of our press deadline talking to all the hopefuls at the annual baseball call. Soon it will be out on the field; the skull work done; and North will know better whether to give Mr. Howland aspirin and turns or ginger ale for the victory celebrations. If it is as has been in the past, we know North's team will give a fine account of itself, win or draw! CROSS COUNTRY The cross country squad under the guidance of Mr. Lalley did not do quite as well as have previous teams • The squad lost to Ithaca in a h e a r t b r e a k e r by one p o in t . This was due largely to the fact that Jack Jones fell. They won their meet with Windsor also. They do not lose many boys this year and should be very strong next year. First row: Ed Fish, Stan Hunkovic, Lance Smith, Dick Brown, Mike Kadlecik. Second row: Richard Greendyke, Bob Frank, Dick Wilson, David Carpenter, Jack Jones, James Jones. Page 66
