Each year the North Star, under the super– vision of Miss Mary Conole, faculty advisor, grows in popularity with the students. The explanation is the wide variety of subjects the paper so expertly covers. The paper contains information on sports, organizations, teen fashions, and the various activities in which North High students participate. In addition to publishing four editions each term, the Star sponsors other activities; for example, the annual bake sale and the elec– tion of the king and queen to reign at their annual May dance. At the North Star outing in June, students chosen from the Senior A class, for excell– ence in work on the paper, are awarded membership in Quill and Scroll, an interna– tionalorganizationfor high school journalists.
