How do you sum up a lifetime of wo~k in ISO words or less? To describe on this page 30 years as a teacher, coach, athletic director and vice-principal is an impossible task. Let it suffice to say they have been years full of joy and excitement, sorrow and tears, good times and bad. I have met hundreds of good people and thousands of good kids. My wife laura for 27 years has put up with many a late night and cold supper as a result of my school ac– tivities. That is a thing of the past. I would like to sum up by referring to a favorite passage of mine spoken by Theodore Roosevelt, 28th President of the United States: "It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by the dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes Kenneth Spenard - Vice- Principal short again and again who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotions and spends himself in a wor– thy cause; who, at the best, knows in the end the triumph of high achieve– ment; and who, at the worst ... at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place will never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat." ...
