Slagle Chenango Volley's 1960 football team ran into one of the most common problems that football teams face - injuries. The first of these injuries occurred before the first game and probably accounted for the let-down which our team suffered in its first game loss to Waterloo, The team rebounded, however, in its next two games to defeat Carthage and Eastwood in shutouts. In both games C. V. was the underdog to two of the toughest teams on its schedule. In the Owego game the team's injury jinx reached its peak when eight of the starting eleven players were struck down. The next two Saturdays the team bounced back with a resounding victory over Greene and a hard fought victory over Windsor. The following week, the Warriors could not cope with Sidney's undefeated powerhouse. At Homer on Veterans' Day, C. V. fought hard only to lose a heartbreaker. The team ended the season with a 4-4 record, not a great one, but a good one considering the over– a II picture. cv cv cv cv cv cv cv cv 13-19 20- 0 13- 0 7-26 48-18 13- 6 6-36 0- 6 Waterloo Carthage Eastwood Owego Greene Windsor Sidney Homer
