Burnett The Varsity baseball team, under the direction of Coach Mito DeCastro, had a record of twelve wins and five losses for the 1960 season. The top batting averages for 1960 were held by Jim Randall with . 429 and Gary Smith with .390. An independent schedule was followed by the Chenango Valley team as we do not belong to any specific league . These boys leam the fundamentals and rules of bose– boll and how to put these essentials into practice on the diamond . The 1961 season looks very promising for the J.V. Warrior baseball team. This year the team was under the direction of Mr . Harvery. The season began in about the middle of April. Most of the matches were played in May against such schools as Binghamton Central, Sidney and Norwich .
