r LAURENCE BILOW High School Principal Each year the history of the grad– uating class and its contemporaries is recorded in the annual yearbook, Acorns. The intrinsic and the sentimental worth of this·book is not what makes it desirable, rather it is the means by which it was originated and compiled that gives it value. The creation of this volume made possible by the i– magination, artistry, diligence and co-operation of students and faculty , is one of the many essential experi– ences in the education of the whole person. My congratulations to the Acorn Staff and Faculty Advisors for publish– ing this historical record of the illus– trious class of 1966. Sincerely, ~~~;A~ Education for tomorrow must give the student a philosophy of life that will give meaning to his ex– istence and to those high moral and intellectual qualities which will support character and put hope under endeavor. The student can make a practical application of this philosophy by playing an active part in the life of his school. If a person is to live and help others to live in a democratic state, it is but reason– able that he must learn of the responsibilities that will be his, The development of an individual's capacity for his own happiness and forthe happiness of others will produce as a natural outgrowth, a better society. I am confident that the Class of 1966 has made adequate preparations to take its place among the leaders of tomorrow. FREDERICK FOX District Principal Sincerely, 5
