Freshman Wrestling The Tiger freshman wrest I i ng program was hampered by a lack of similar programs in surround– ing schools. Therefore, compe– tition was largely against other schools 1 older and more exper– ienced JV teams. In dual meets, the Tiger freshman were bested by the JV teams of M-E, Whit– ney Point and Deposit, but gar– nered some revenge by upending the Binghamton Central JV 1 s. Against more equal competition, two successful scrimmages were held against the Vestal and Owego freshman. The Tiger freshman finished their season respectably by finishing sixth out of fifteen JV teams in the Bainbridge-Guilford JV Tourna– ment. Four UE freshman placed in the tournament: Tim Briggs (second at 112 lbs .) and Tony Felice, Dean Lord, and Randy Northrup (fourth place at 91, 105, 145 lbs. respectively).
