They worked hard, but fell short of o winning season . Their spirit was victorious but the scores didn't always show it. Rick Bennett was the leading hitter, with a .323 percentage. Dink Hayes was the top scorer with 14 runs and he led the club with 15 hits. Rick Rex followed closely with 14 hits, including the team's only homerun. Dan Bagan and Scott Scofield each had 10 stolen bases, and Rick Rex and Dave Williams knocked in 10 runs apiece. Both pairs took top honors in these categories. Tom Hickey and Dave Murphy each were credited with 79 put-outs, and Murph sported a .976 (out of 1.000) fielding percentage. In pitching, the 4 victories were divided equally between Rick Bennett, Dink Hayes, Dan Bagan, and Dave Williams. Hayes and Bennett owned noteworthy ERA's (runs allowed per innings), 1.53 and 1.75 respectively. Also impressive was Steve Guinan's 49 strike-outs in only 30 innings.
