128 FA, LA, LA, LA, LA AND OOOM PAH I PAH It was a June night. The 1979 Music Awards Dinner was held in the cafeteria. In otfendance were Chorus and Sand officers, presented awards for first through fourth year membership in the organizations. The officers received pins in appreciation for their leadership. Medals were given to vocal and instrumental solo and ensemble participants who competed in the N.Y .S.S.M.A. (New York Stole Schools Music Association) Festival. The end of that night signals the finish of o year's achievements. Sui, most importantly, it signals the beginning of a new year. That evening Mrs. Mildred Bowman announced her retirement. Afterword, the Chorus honored Mrs. Bowman with o dogwood tree and a teorfilled song; "What I Did for Love." We miu her song of love. Gary Winans presents Mrs. Bowman wirh a token of appreciation.
