1975 Seton Catholic High School Yearbook (Endicott, NY) - Guest Access

2 Seton has become a vital part of the unique organization called the Catholic School System which throughout the years has furthered the development of young Christian minds. This is a system which not only develops the usual "reading, writing and arithmetic" skills but also develops Christian lives. The Catholic School System is one to be proud of, and thankful for: proud of where we stand in the community and thankful for the·christian ideals which have been established in us. To say thank you to each person responsible for our survival over the past twenty years would be impossible. However, there are some individuals deserving our special thanks. In particular we thank the Ordinary of Diocese, The Most Reverend David F. Cunningham, D. D. , Bishop of Syracuse, who is responsible for keeping the Catholic School System in our diocese running; also we must thank the Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Syracuse, Thomas J. Costello; and our local representative, the Assistant Superintendent of Schools for Broome County, Monsignor Peter J. Owens; who along with the school board, formulates and coordinates the policies on which our Catholic School System stands. Much gratitude, too, is owed to the thirty area pastors and their parishes for their contributions to Seton throughout the years. Neither must we forget the countless efforts of our parents and of administration. And so, to all those responsible we say "Thank you." Thank you for a chance to grow, Thank you for a chance to know, Thank you for Seton. One of the many important factors making up Seton is its faculty; On our faculty we find people who care, men and women who give a large part of themselves in order to further the growth of the student body. Not only have we learned the curriculum; but through our priests, Daughters of Charity, and concerned laymen and women, we have obtained valuable knowledge of ourselves and those around us. As our four years at Seton rush by, so too, do valuable and memorable experiences. In the laughter and the disappointment, the excitement and the solitude, the giving and the taking, from freshman year to senior year we learn to get involved and share a small part of ourselves with everyone we meet. During these four years we experience varied activities, each one having something special for everyone. The activities helped us find others and ourselves as well. Through Student Exchange, The Marian Society, the Student Faculty Relations Board, the Booster Club, the retreats, the days of recollection, teaching C. C. D. , and our Liturgical Program we have communicated a message to all, Seton's message of Christian Growth. ' The athletic program is very important in our school. Whether it be kicking a soccer ball, bouncing a basketball, or trudging up a hill in a cross country meet, Seton's athletes participate with a winning attitude and a determined spirit. Our athletes work hard, they train, and they compete. "If what a man built on the foundation survives the fire, he will receive a reward.'' 1 Corinthians 9:14 Bob Williams '75
