A generation of Elmira youth is indebted to him for his wise leadership during seventeen years as principal of E. F. A. As an educator who is himself a scholar, he did much to stimulate a zest for learning among his students. During his administration, he fostered a spirit of loyalty in both his staff and the student body. Therefore, it is with deepest regret for his retirement last year that we dedicate the 1955 TORCH to Dr. Albert B. Helmkamp. 5 • . .
