The Senior Class of Elmira Free Academy proudly presents 0 VOLUME 34 W LOOK'' 1965
CHARLES W. MILLARD We, the staff of the 1965 Torch, dedicate this book to a man without whose devotion and guidance this book would not have been possible. Mr. Millard was not only our yearbook advisor, but a counselor to whom we could turn with other school problems. Seniors who were lucky enough to be in his English class can remember not only Wordsworth, Defoe, and Bunyon, but enlightening discussions of school activities, world problems, and our plans for the future. This was Mr. Millard's last year as yearbook advisor, a post he held for four years. With gratitude and esteem, we dedicate the Torch to him as we leave both Academy and him. 4
E. F. A. Moves Aheac:ll The 1965 Torcb presents, Our New Look. Throughout the many year of Academy's history, several buildings have been chri tened Elmira Free Academy. We have tried to how you school life in the most recent one, with its ultramodern, complex maze of classrooms, labs, cafeterias, hops, gyms, and superb auditorium. And we have attempted to show that the old rich traditions from past schools till live in our sparkling halls and gleaming rooms. The four years we have spent in the two buildings will be the final education for some, and an intermediate plateau for other . For u , this yearbook is even more special, because it is a record not only of our senior year, but also the first year of this new building's existence. Our motto, EXEGl .i\tOMUMENTUM AERE PERENNIUS - I have built a monument more lasting than bronze, is truly applicable to our new building, and those words shall continue to inspire hundreds of future students. Thu we, the class of 1965, wish to make our yearbook a Ia ting record of Our New Look - for the administration, the underclas men, and ourselves, the seniors.
