Norwich High School 1963 Yearbook (Norwich, NY) - Full Access

' ... ~ndergraduates ~eplt! At long last the Class of 1963 has reached the goal of all students, seniority. And now as that final hour rapidly approaches, the Seniors are preparing to abandon the corridors of N.H.S. to take their places as adult citizens. But before they escape the hectic ordeals of their scholastic lives at N.H.S., we, the Juniors, will make an effort to disprove the statement so popular among Seniors, "Seniority means Superiority." Can the Seniors answer the following questions: Will the Seniors ever give Mr. Welch his Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's wish (peace and quiet in 207)? Do some Seniors need hearing aids? Your conversations are held so close together. (Sue and George) What do the boys in front of 207 really talk about? Will Dick O'Connor go to college or does he have bigger things in mind? Will Senior girls ever be going with Senior boys? Every class, including the Class of1963, has its idiosyncrasies. These are a few which the Juniors will always remember. The time our Senior football heroes became "Nurses." The basketball games where only one Senior started. The Seniors slowly walking to classes after the bell has rung. Hermie's crutches. Frog's two(?) front teeth. Punky's one true love--his car. Cheryl Utter's hair. Donna Chirlin's laugh. Bob Jewett's walk. Senior girls without dates. Jack Brereton's ambition. Hans' kicking ability. The Class of 1964 hopes you have taken our criticism lightly. Despite its many shortcomings, the Class of 1963 has been a great class. The Juniors have enjoyed being your rivals these past years. The Class of 1964 leaves you with this one last thought- "Reach for the stars." Remember, no goal is too high. Deborah Thompson Richard Larsson 43
