Norwich High School 1963 Yearbook (Norwich, NY) - Full Access

44 Jhesident's J\ddress Presidmt ofthe Class of 1963 During the past few weeks we have heard of the bridges we are about to cross and the challenges we must face as we enter the world of business and higher education. I have no advice to give or predictions to make; I can only wonder. Will our Class be represented by the man reading anewspaper on the subway, the comedian imitating the President, and the family attending church together? Remember, the man reading the newspaper is doing what perhaps half the world cannot; he is reading the truth. The comedian need not worry about mysteriously disappearing and the family may worship as they please. Will we be able to defend our country and these liberties as our fathers and grandfathers have so capably done before us? The answer to these questions is a simple and sincere yes. In short, these questions are really asking, "Will we become American Citizens able to continue enjoying the highest standard oflivingin the world?" It is our obligation and our privilege.
