Area fans were surprised at the strength and obi Iity shown by this young and inexperienced team. The Devermen posted a winning season, with a record of four wins and three defeats. Mr. Dever bui It his team around four returning senior starters, Gary Hopps, BobRowe and 1953 all-county selections Jim Peters and Alan Her– shey. Other senior gridmen included Bruce Proper, Clem Cronin, Gary Shirley and Peter Quinn.
