ASIDE FROM PETERS at tackle and' Hershey at end, the line was bolstered by tackles Bruce Proper, Sam Halaby and Frank Wixson. For the center of the line, Dever selected Jack Callaghan and Alton Bush, guards, and John Thomson, center. Sophomore Fred Hughes went at a defensive linebacker slot. Behind this light, but hard fighting line, a well-balanced back field performed effectively. Except for seniors Gary Hopps and Bob Rowe and junior Bob Powell, the backfield positions were handled by sophomor· es. Quarterback Ron Nolte showed excellent ball-handling ability as he directed the Baron attack . Soph– omore ball-carriers Tom Dalbey, Craig Ashton and Ken Stewart started at different times during the year. Gerald Rising's freshman squad provides a bright outlook for. future years.
