Liverpool High School 1963 Yearbook (Liverpool, NY) - Full Access
Glass Jf}slory e, the Class of 1963, began our high school careers as Fresh– men in the Fall of 1959. It was then that we had our first taste of high school sub– jects and schedules! Later that year we held a Spring Dance, which was a semi-formal affair. In September, 1960, we entered the hallls of Liverpool Senior High School. After learning our way through the corridors and construction work, we elected our class officers: Pat Wiegand, President; Jerry Metca If, Vice-President; Bev Stevens, Secre– tary; and Harold Bernardi, Treasurer. Our first social attempt, the Sophomore Dance, was unfortunately planned on the wrong night. Remember "fellows," that Syracuse– Miami football game you watched while your dates danced alone? In the Spring, the class participated in the annual Country Fair with the successful General Store booth. The year ended with many of us taking our first Regents' exams. We returned as Juniors, this time selecting John Hammond as President; Judy Campbell, Vice-President; Bev Stevens, Secretary; and Pat Sparrow, Treasurer. Our first class activity was Signature Night. We broke all other records for yearbook fund– raising. On January 26, the Liverpool gymnasium miraculously changed to "Rues de Paris." Paul Granato and Bev Stevens reigned as King and Queen of our Junior Prom. For the Country Fair, we recreated "Dog Patch" with a pie-eating contest, an apple dunking, and a marriage booth to name a few of the activities. We entered Liverpool High School for the last time this year, realizing our respon– sibilities as Seniors. Again we broke tradition and set the precedent of an all-girl team of class officers, namely: Bev Stevens, President; Kay Schoeberlein, Vice-President; Barb Mann, Secretary; and Linda Brown , Treasurer. Enthusiastically, we joined the last Washington Club, conducted a fine magazine campaign, had two excellent ''din– ners," and made a most memorable trip to Washington. lhe Senior Ball, again held at the Country Club, was as usual, a spectacular affair, second only to that long awaited day, June 21, 1963-Graduation at the War Memo– rial-for Liverpool's outstanding Senior Class.
