Liverpool High School 1963 Yearbook (Liverpool, NY) - Full Access

For over two generations, students from liverpool High School have taken the trip to Washington, D.C., at Eastertime. This five day, well-planned educational experience gave many their first train ride and the first time away from home, sharing hotel rooms and learning to get along together. The history of our country came alive as they walked through the Halls of Congress, the White House, and along the paths of Mount Vernon. What an inspiration to read famous words of Jefferson, Lincoln and Washington from the walls of monuments and memorials erected in their honor! They visited the Shakespearean Theatre, Smithsonian Institute, the National History Building, and Mellon Art Galleries creating new interests in learning. It was a thrill to see the original documents in the Library of Congress and the Archives Building. They stood in awed silence at the tombs of the Unknown Soldiers and worshipped with thousands from all parts of United States in the various beauti– ful churche-s on Easter Morning.
