Liverpool High School 1963 Yearbook (Liverpool, NY) - Full Access
As the Americans Abroad Student of 1962, I spent the past summer in lugano, Switzerland. This beau– tiful city in the Italian speaking section, lies on scenic lake lugano enclosed by Monte Bre and Monte San Salvatore. Living with a foreign family of mother, father, four boys, one girl and a dog, I had an exciting, fast-paced summer learning their customs, and traveling into the majestic Alps and to such industrial and prospering cities as Zurich and St. Moritz. I owe my opportunity to travel to the A.F.S. and the people of liverpool. As well as my family and friends in Switzerland, I will always remember and thank you people who made my trip possible. John Hammond 701 Vine Street liverpool, N.Y. "Adeus e eu os verei breve." Thank you, liverpool and A.F.S. I had a wonder– ful year with many experiences. A special, warm "Thank You" to my family, The F. F. Hieplers, Cold Springs Road. When we miss somebody or someplace a lot, we use the Brazilian word "Saudade" to express all these feelings. I'll never forget the love and friendship that you all shared with me. I think that there is no one word more unhappy than "goodby." Thank you for everything. Goodby and I'll see you soon.
