Matmen - State Ranked For the past four years the Varsity Wrestling team has earned the prestigious honors of be– Ing state ranked. Liverpool wrestling has developed Into one of the finest programs in Section 3 as well as ranking among the best teams in New York State. This year the Varisty finished their regular season 9-4-0 losing only to the state powers, Fulton No. 1, Baldwinsville No. 5, Canastota No. 8, and New Hartford No. 12. The tournament competition was one of the Warriors' highlights this year. The wrestlers finished second at North Syracuse December 19 in a field of 16 teams, and at Spencerport - December 27 in a field of 22 teams. On January 9, the Warriors captured the team title at Central Square with a 16 team field. The season in all proved to be successful, both for team honors and for individual Sec– tional Place finishers. The JV finished 12-2-0 and highlighted their season by defeating Baldwinsville, who had not been beaten in the League Competition In the last 10 years. The wrestlers and the coaching staff wish to express their appreciation for the fine support that the student body and wrestling fans showed this year.
