The process ot mak– Ing this sculpture started in January of 1984 Gettong permoSSIOf'l and mekong a model were the forst steps Next came raosong the money By selhng carnations in the sprong, genong donatoons of money and supplies from area businesses, specoal groups, and Houses wothon the school, Chelly obtaoned the necessary money to begon. She worked hard over the summer, two to three days a week lor four hours each day. In the fall she worked from tenth perood on untol dark. Fove gallons of foberglass, 30 gallons of auto body hiler, and nearly 900 pounds of cement later, Chelly completed her task Chelly won't dovulge what she beheves her sculpture represents. She feels thalli's up to the voewer to decide for homself Art is nothing less than a way of making joys perpetual. - Rebecca West
