Liverpool High School 1985 Yearbook (Liverpool, NY) - Full Access
Because of the newly acquired field lights, Homecoming was held at night. The festivities began with a pep rally to boost our spirits for the game ... fall sports teams were announced, then the contests began. Freshmen stole the show. At 6:00 that evening the parade started to roll at Craven Crawford Elementary School. Everything went as planned (yes, the Seniors finished their float) . As soon as the floats pulled into the parking lot of the high school, it started to pour. During the sprinkled-on foot– ball game, Cheryl Galtieri was crowned Homecoming Queen with Debbie Fulgieri as first runner-up. The Freshmen took first place in the float contest with "Care Bear." The Juniors' "Odie" took second place and the Seniors came in third with their three-tiered cake, and the Sophomores took last place with a Tomb. The game turned out to be as bad as the weather. A final look at the scoreboard showed that we lost to Fayetteville-Manlius 20-0. Because of the controversy concerning the Powder Puff football game, it was held at Christ the King Church. The Juniors defeated the Seniors with a score of 7-0 in double overtime. True friendship is like sound health, the value of it is seldom known until it is lost. - Charles Caleb Cotton 14 Homecomins
