Foreword A time marches on we, the tudent of Ea twood High School, hall con tantly try to improve our– selve . Some times we hall meet with victory, other times with failure, but each failure will challenge us to try again until at la t we shall reap the fruit of our work - ucce s. During our four year of high school we are preparing for the future. In a friendly atmo phere we slowly gain knowledge and maturity. We change from adolescents to a– dults. Dedication This year the Hilltopper Staff of Ea twood High School dedicates "The 40th Annual HilltoppeT" to the man who i re pon ible for it existence, Mr. Bernard Hess. Affectionately thought of as "Mr. Hill– topper", Mr. Hes has directed the activities of this book for many suc– cessful year . Hi intere t in the book, his patience and hi understanding have been felt by all the staff member under his upervision. Thi in– cludes the staff of our school newspaper, "The Hilites", which he also advi e . Beside having the tedious job as advisor to the yearbook and newspaper, Mr. He s conducts uch classes as mechanical drawing, and printing. Beloved by both faculty and students, Mr. Hess has left an impression on Eastwood High School that will forever remain in these halls and in our memories. 6
