Oneonta High School 1968 Yearbook (Oneonta, NY) - Full Access

From fall to spring, sports lent excitement to the school atmosphere. The football games left pleasant memories of the first glimpse of the blue and gold football jerseys, the taste of a warm hot dog on a frosty afternoon, and the roar of the cheering crowd. At half-time the concession stand resembled a carnival as the spectators milled about buying candy and soft drinks. As the cold snowy months set in, sports enthusiasts crowded into the school gym to attend basketball games and wrestling matches. Spring brought the return of outdoor sports. Soft breezy days invited additional spectators to baseball games, while the hard-packed turf encouraged tennis matches and track meets.
