One of the most useful tools for students interested In expressing themselves in written form this year was the literary magazine, Drumbeat. Under the direction of Mrs. Rita Ebel, creative students on the Drumbeat staff and from the general school popu· lace were urged to submit any poems or prose they would like to see published. These writings were then reviewed by editor Cherryl Schill and her assistants, and the best were published in the issue of Drum– beat. As in the past, Drumbeat was once again a force for creative expression at Mahopac. The Dance Company, under the direction of Char· lotte Kopp, presented their sixth annual concert in April. This year the Company's repetoire included numbers in tap, jazz, and a modern suite. A special jaz.z suite containing excerpts from the rock musical " Tommy" was also presented. An exceptionally large group of girls joined Dance intramurals in Novem· ber. lntramurals lasted two months and preceded selection of students for the Company.
