This was enough to gain for Gilboa the Class E Championship and give the team a chance to participate in the Sectional games at Saratoga. The first game at Saratoga was played against Perth. The Gilboa five took an early lead and easily won by a score of Gilboa 52, Perth 39. By winning the quarter final game, the team became contenders in the semi -final game against Lake George.
