Wanted so much to give away important things I had to say for many day And suddenly! you came along helped me share my perfect song in perfect ways ... And then I heard you sing the song that I was singing all along and failed to seebaby the thing I most fear In a changing world baby, I saw you disappear. Moratorium Beginning in October 1969, a moratorium protesting American involvement in Viet Nam pread aero s the United States. John Jay was not untouched. Many students demonstrated their upport of the moratorium by wearing black armbands, leaving chool to participate in other peace gathering , and discu sing the issues in class. Others donned white armbands and rallied to show their opposition to the moratorium concept. In an appeal for moderation, the uncommitted or confused sported grey armbands. Emotions grow more strained each month as the movement continues. Faculty and students alike have expressed surpri e and concern over the deep feeling and inten e reactions cau ed by the moratorium. No one know the end result, but all now recognize that the people in John Jay are becoming involved in a world outside of the u ual high school acĀ· tivities.
