Mike Trainor awards the FTA scholarship to Robert Fontana. The school year 1961-1962 was perhaps the greatest year that the FTA has ever had. Under the leadership of Bro. Cosgrove as moderator and Mike Trainor as president the FTA came to the forefront as the most active and varied organi– zation at Chaminade. Their projects included tutoring, classroom supervision, and such novel projects as sponsoring the Talent Search, movies, sock hops, and the awarding of a scholarship to the outstanding freshman. 157
