194 It is traditional for the senior class of · Chami– nade to present the school with a class gift. This year that tradition saw an excellent fulfill– ment. The graduates teamed up with Mr. and Mrs. Brodbeck to ac– quire a lasting memorial to a boy who should have been on the stage during the ceremonies of graduation to receive his diploma. But Al– mighty God in His in– scrutable designs saw fit to call Michael Brodbeck to his reward during his Sophomore year. ham· naJe Jicates a tatue o o o And so, with the aid of Mike's parents, a beauti– fully sculptured statue of Saint Joseph and the Christ Child, hewn from Italian marble and im– ported from Italy, was presented to the school by the seniors. This stat– ue now stands in the courtyard on the Cham– inade High School cam– pus as lasting tribute to a deserving person.
