Pop Reads "The Christmas Carol' ' DRAMATICS CHRISTMAS PROGRAM The annual Christmas program featured members of the speech and music departments. The speech class contributed a hilarious one-act comedy, "Pop Reads The Christmas Carol." Throughout last-minute preparations of the Jone family, Pop tried to carry out his idea of a nice, old-fa hioned Christmas by reading Dickens' Christmas Carol. But the family had other ideas : Junior was searching for gifts; Paul, having for a date; Mary, getting ready for her boyfriend; and Mother, doing all the little odds and ends. Pop fi nally got mad and gave up in a huff, but Junior saved the day in an ending that added just the perfect note of the Christmas spirit. Selection pre ented by the music departments were aloin keeping with the Yuletide spirit. The Mixed Choru , directed by Ray Creighton, and the Girls' Glee Club, directed by Mrs. Connie John on, each gave two elections. The program was concluded with several Christma carols sung by all present. STAPLETON'S MARKET Th irty-Four
