Howland High School 1961 Yearbook (Warren, OH) - Full Access

FEW HOWLAND GRADUATES TAKE UNSKILLED JOBS Howland has one of the highest percentages of graduates entering col- lege of any of the county schools. This is a credit not only to the quality of the graduates, but also to the finest faculty and administration any- where. Even the boys unable to attend college do not have to take un- skilled jobs-they develop skills in Howland's shops-stepping stones to top factory jobs. RESISTING THE APPEAL OF "FOOL'S GOLD" In a highly industrialized area, the availability of $100.00 per week unskill- ed jobs is a real challenge to the graduates determined to attend college. The high percentage of Howland graduates making names in the business and professional world is living testimony to the quality and determination of Howland graduates, their faculty and the administration.
