KEEP SCHOOL RUNNING IN GOOD ORDER MR. THOMAS, ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL Mr. Herbert Thomas, the assistant principal, is a new-comer to Howland this year. Mr. Thomas comes here from Champion, where he was a member of the faculty for eight years. While at Champion, he served three years as elementary principal, three years as high school principal and taught English, world history, American history, sociology, and driver training. Mr. Thomas is a life-time resident of this area. He was born in Warren, graduated from Leavittsburg High School and attended Western Reserve Uni- versity. He received his B.S. degree from Youngs- town University, and his M.Ed. degree from Kent State University. We wish to welcome you to our staff, Mr. Thomas. f2 ~,;/~.7 fJJJ~ MR. BARRICK, JUNIOR HIGH PRINCIPAL For fourteen years, Mr. Mar Barrie has been at Howland. When he first came in 1947, he was assigned classes in science, algebra, and general business. Ten years later he was appointed assistant principal. At present he is principal of the junior high and looking forward to his duties in the new junior high building. Mr. Barrick received his education in the public schools of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, California State Teachers College and Kent State University, where he received his B.S. and M.Ed. degrees. Students in these fourteen years have all come to admire and respect Mr. Barrick for his pleasing personality as well as his ability as a teacher and administrator. 13
