48 Glide had a very successful football season this year. Their record was 5 wins to 1 loss. The Wildcats took second in state and were beaten out by Culver. The Wildcats had eight letter– men returning from last year. Although this is the last year the Wildcats are to play six-man football the coach was well pleased with the results. The Wildcats will be in the Umpqua Valley League next year and will have some very tough competition . Chuck Pinion will coach the foot– ball team and Jack Forsythe, the coach this year, will be assistant coach . Dick Smith was selected All American Prep Football Player for the season by the PREP FOOTBALL MAGAZINE national selection board, and was also listed in the BRAINS AND BRAWN MAGAZINE of the same organization.
