Then, the time came for Redstone's more accomplished musicians to commence hours of long, tedious practice to perfect classical renditions. Under the baton of Mr. Montagna, the Redstone High School Concert Band made its first public debut at the Christmas program. Playing their repertoire of ruletide melodies, the musicians captivated the audience, leaving them filled with Christmas spirit. To please modern music enthusiasts, their mode of music ranged from symphonic tunes such as Ofenback's "Or· pheus" to the swinging beat of "Badinage for Brasses." After weeks of concentr:ued study, the band performed flawlessly at the Spring Concert and senior play produc· tion. Playing the haunting melodies "March from Aida" and ''Auld Lang Syne" at baccalaureate and commencement exercises, senior instrumentalists felt a pang of regret; for their high school days were over. 103
