"LOOKING BACK" As the future stems on, we look back at our fond school memories. The time•• . ••• 1955, Place•....• Washington School. ....• Thirty young and curious individuals had invaded Miss Christina 's Domain. These people were on their first adventure through "The \vorld of School." First grade had progressed quite normally, but as for Second! This v1as the year \'/hen \'le had produced our first play, "Zorro" : John Pleska, Zorro, Beverly Jane Payne 1 The Senorita, and Gregory Krenitsky, The Commandante! The next year, our class gre\'1 bigger as we were united with the Roosevelt School. It was our first year to have a male teacher , Mr. Langan. The next t\'IO years had gone by quickly, with Joseph Levin as one of our ne\'1 students and another division of our class . Sadness entered each of the students in the sixth grade ; our beloved fellow classmate, Ronald Gerchman had passed away . But \'le also gained another student, in the shape of a Robert Mudrick! This year we were the "Big Seniors of the Washington School!" (WOW ! ! ) Junior High came soon. With the patience and guidance of Miss Withka and Miss Lavin, we had become the ladies and gentlemen of their prediction. Our production of the "Columbus Day Program" proved this . Once again our class expanded . This time it \<las a Richard Mroczka! "Eighth Grade Highlights" \</as the first yearbook produced by us . All the credit of that endeavor goes to Loretta Kwiatkowski-Editor and Joseph Levin-Co -Editor , but it couldn 't have been done without the help of Miss Lavin. We then increased by two, Calista Birtley and Ann Marie Scotchlas. 36
