Mr. Ayre • The Class of '43 will long remember the incom– parable success of the various musical organizations and the unprecedented pleasu res derived from them during their senior year. These pleasures not only impel us to make music the theme of this volume but also to do honor to the instructors and the members of these organizations. The Varsity Band, outstanding and unexcelled, will long be remembered for its st irring marches, its football pep songs, and its medley of pieces played for the sons of G. A. R. who responded to their Country's colors. Both orchestras, Junior and Senior, have made chapel exercises and enter– tainments interesting and worthwhile. The Glee Clubs have entertained us in various ways. The Junior Band has supplied the depleting ranks of the Varsity Band. As we, the Seniors take leave of G. A. R .. we shall bear in our hearts the music of the field , the auditorium, and the classroom. Therefore, we, the Class of 1943 , take great pleasure in dedicating · this 16th volume of the Garchive to Mr. Ayre and Miss Pugh, and their respective organizations. G.A.R.
