The Calendar - - Continued Week of March 14 ... Do you hear groaning' Shuffling' Well, just between you and us and the knob on the door, the gir ls are getting toughening up exercises in gym. Laugh at the boys who are stiff from gym now, girls' Did you hear' Lt. Chesney's job in the army is $ampling food! That must be some job. Week of March 21 . . . Action , thrills, spills, and chills: that's what we see in a set of films shown to Senior High that is a ll about sports. Boy's inter– ested in V-12 exam sign forms: these exams are for officer's training in both the Navy and Army. Lt Reichner of the Navy ex– pla ins the mechanisms of V-12, and the training course that follows, to the boys, and right after that all the boys in school meet Charles T rippi who makes a short speech then shows movies of the Rose Bowl game· It was sure "swell" stuff. Week of March 28 . . . ' No school Some of the boys take the V-12 exam: tough stuff. Week of April 4 ... Everywhere we look there are more vacant seats denoting fel low Carmen have joined up ; and teachers too are getting in the fight : The Misses Reedy and Lord join the W.A.V.E.S. $eventy-Eigilt ' • ·. Week of April 11 . . Pan American Day and a grottp of Mr. Lloyd's histroy students enlighten us on our American cousins . A film about our forest and forest products is shown . Week of April 18 .. Bands play, people march, and everyone buys bonds as a captured ) ap submarine is exhibited in town: This is Holy Week and what with students staying home for Holy Thursday and for the Passover, the school is half deserted . Week of April 25 . . . Why is everyone so intent on walking about the town' Answer: Why it's Easter and of course we've got to show off our new clothes. '·· · Easter Monday is such a beautiful day that, although there is supposed to be school, there aren't enough "guys and gals" on the inside to warrant any classes. The Garchive dance was a huge success. We look forward to the outing, class night , and commencement. We prophesy that the the class of ' 43 wiJI make their mark in the war effort. •
