James M. Coughlin High School 1972 Yearbook (Wilkes-Barre, PA) - Guest Access

Michael Powell Mr. Michael Powell has been a member of the CHS faculty for the last 26 years. Mr. Powell will miss both the student body and the faculty at Coughlin. He has a great interest in the student as an individual. Mr. Powell can be proud of the students who have returned after taking college courses, and have thanked him for laying a good foundation for them. Mr. Powell feels that he is too interested in teaching to give it up completely. He hopes to continue to teach night classes in Americanization. 1912feb<u/IIY 1 I 2 3 4 2345678 6789 10 " 9 10 n 1213 1415 1314 1516 t718 J5f71819202122 202!22232425: ~11'J' 2S26212829 272829 5 Zlata Tuhy Miss Tuhy graduated from Coughlin and of her years working here, she says she enjoyed her work and found students always friendly. At one time she handled the amateur show, directed the Reserve Orchestra, and advised the girl's bowling league. When Miss Tuhy first came to Coughlin, she was faced with an almost impossible task. There was no central library and the health rooms on the third floor were the scenes of disaster with scattered books. Because of her devoted work we have a completely organized and well stocked library. We hope Miss Tuhy will find time to return and visit Coughlin.
