HJ-Y Teen Talk was the highlight of the Hi-Y program. Teen talk was a series of discus~ions outlined by the State Y.M.C.A. The series had been published for the past eighteen years. Copies were ordered from the Y.M.C.A. for the mem– bers of the club. The topics consisted of seven discussions and a test on the last week of discussions. The programs were held on each successive Friday beginning with the week of January 31st. Leaders of the discussion were professional men from the com– munity but not directly with the duties and problems of youth. The duties of youth as seen by the El-Y Club are as follows: To show respect of parents and those in authority by thoughtful acts which express appreciation. To be friendly to all my school mates regardless of race, creed or color. To obey the rules and regulations of home, school, and government, helping to change them if they are not in the best interests of all. To do my best to discover the problems of citizenship of School, in the Community, and the World, and work for their solution. To endeavor to understand God and his plan for society and help formulate a Philosophy of Life taking into account God, Man, and the universe. To make teen age boys conscious of their duties the following problems were discussed in seven successive weeks of the past year: Am I A Responsible Person? Worthy Home Membership Does The World Owe Me A Living? It Pays To Be Decent Things Which Shorten Life Let No Man Despise Thy Youth A Philosophy Of Life An objective test was given on the eighth week. After the papers were corrected and sent to the Y.M.C.A. a certificate was sent to each club member who successfully passed the test.
