Coach Daily exercises develop physical strength in P. E. classes required of all seventh and eighth grade boys and girls. Freshmen may elect P. E. when their schedules permit. In addition to exercises, students engage in different sports such as volleyball, basketball, tennis, golf, bowling. Both films and lectures about maintaining good health are also used in P. E. classes. Rand and eltorus Offer )lusical Opportunities In the midst of a beehive of activity, band students still manage to practice a period each day and afternoons after school. Majorette and color guard mem– bers, as well as members who always play instruments, find much satisfaction in learning and performing. Mr. Gilliam, band leader, also directs two choruses: one for senior high students and one for junior high students, Opportunities to en– gage in a musical activity are thus provided for any student who is interested. The big bass drum of the Red Devil Band is a familiar sight at all band perfor– mances . This percussion section emphasize s the rhythm and adds depth and color to the musical selections.
