Social Studies Create Juterest in World Affairs Stanley Childers points out to Judy Wilson the site of the battle of New Orleans. Social studies offer a v a r i e d selection to students interested in history. S.C. histol'y is required for sev– enth graders while sub-freshmen must study American history. Senior high students are required to take American history : they may elect world hist01y, civics, or government. From all these courses, students may develop an understanding of the· past and appreciation for the heritage that is the right of each American ci ti– zen.
