Strutz Captures State Crown An inexperienced wrestling squad paced by individua l hustle and a strong sense of team spirit took second place in the SoDak Wres- tling Conference, second in the Conference Tournament, and fourth in the State Meet. With only team captain Jim Strutz back as a regular , Coach Dudley Melichar started .a re- J im Strutz copped the State Championship in the 138 lb. class. while having the first unblemished Arrow record of 16-0-1. He se t another Arrow r ecord by winning 12 of his 17 matches by pins. building program. When the season ended, he had a better won-lost record and finished higher in the State Tournament than with last year's SoDak Conference Champs. Melichar is quick to point out that he just told the boys what had to be done and they did the work.
