56 KATHY LARSON AND WAYNE MELANDER PATTI WELCH AND STEVE RIES Ki-Yi AttendantsAdd to Legend LYNN REESE AND JIM RUHE "Drum beat, drum beat, hark to the drum beat" . . . that was the chant of the Masque and Thespian members for the 22nd annual presentation of the Ki-Yi Legend. The legend, originated by Miss Florence Bruhn, is the story of two Indian tribes, the Kione and the Yi-Wa-Wa on the shores of Lake Kampeska . Legend leader, Dave Spolum called forth the maidens and warriors and presented the 1961 Ki-Yi Princess, Chief- tain, and Chief of Arrows. This Ki-Yi Day ceremony no doubt left a lasting impression in the memories of many students.
